Pet lovers know the benefits of having your favorite furry friend nearby. But it’s unusual to find a business owner who feels the same way during working hours.
Some companies are beginning to recognize the benefits to both their employees and their bottom line, however, when they allow animals at work.
So, some companies are offering a new benefit to their employees. They can bring their pets with them to work.
Major companies such as Amazon, Google and Etsy have already implemented these perks, some even offering dog spas, on-site dog walkers and pet insurance plans.
The benefits to both the companies and their employees are considerable. A 2012 study showed that stress hormones were lower in employees when they had their pets nearby.

Opponents of the idea argue that the pets would be too distracting. Instead, experience and research are showing that the frequent, stress-relieving breaks have the opposite effect.
