Life has a way of standing still when a loved one is dealing with a medical crisis. And if someone needs surgery, it can be a terrifying ordeal.
If you have been through it you understand that nothing else really matters at that point in time. If your beloved is in tgrouble — all your thoughts are devoted to them.
Medical emergencies are terrifying for everyone — especially for our furry four-legged friends. After all, they can’t even tell us what’s wrong.
Surgery is scary
While all of those situations are chock full of worry and stress, situations involving beloved pets can be pretty harrowing.
Quite simply, pets can’t tell us what’s bugging them. And that alone is extremely frustrating and frightening.
While in-tune owners know when something is wrong with their furry friends, it’s a whole lot tougher to zero in on the specific symptoms that are ailing them.
Of course, there are times when there’s no question what’s going on:
That’s somewhat a relief as it erases the uncertainty, but then you have to deal with the terror of knowing exactly what’s wrong…and that it’s potentially fatal.
The owner of a gorgeous labrador retriever named Jack Daniel recently faced such a horrible situation:
Poor Jack had a lump on his neck. There was no question that he was going to need surgery to have it removed.
It had to be done, or the dog would die.
As you might expect, Jack Daniel’s loving owner was fraught with worry when he brought Jack in for the procedure. As for Jack, you can be sure he was awfully nervous as well.
It’s scary enough for a human that can process exactly what’s going to be happening. Our four-legged friends don’t have the same luxury, however.
They can surely sense when their best friends are nervous, though. So, it’s safe to say that Jack had a hunch something important was about to happen.
Thankfully, the surgery went off without a hitch. It took some time for Jack to get back on his feet and return to normal, but signs point to all being well.
He’s even closer with his owner now, as you can clearly see in this emotional clip that has exploded on social media.
More than 15 million people have watched the touching scene of Jack hugging his owner in a festively decorated room.
It certainly looks like they both got exactly what they wanted for Christmas!
