When it rains, it pours.
In other words, bad news can come in bunches and when it does, you just have to dig in and hope for better days.
And sometimes, you just might have to dig into your wallet to save a special soul.
Money becomes irrelevant when you’re talking about such souls, correct?
Just ask a young woman who adopted her father’s dog; she’ll be the first to tell you that the life of her new pet takes priority.
An Imgur user going by the username KingKizer relayed the heartbreaking – and ultimately heartwarming – story:
This user’s father passed away about a year ago.
It was hard for him, of course, and it was also hard for Max, the dog his father adopted when he was just 4 months old.
So, when his father passed, the son wasn’t sure what to do with Max…then he knew he had to call his sister.
She lives to help people: She’s a veteran and has been a vet technician, and she even helped rescue animals after Hurricane Katrina.
And thankfully, she was happy to adopt Max.
But when when she took him to the vet for a checkup, the doctor came back with horrible news:
Max had severe cirrhosis of the liver and didn’t have long to live. Obviously, this was another terrible blow.
But she wasn’t about to let Max slip away as her father had done.
She spent nearly $15,000 to get Max healthy and now, Max is still very much alive and part of a warm and loving family.
In turn, a part of her father lives on in Max and again, if you ask her, I’m sure she won’t think twice about the money.
This is about triumph in the face of tragedy, after all!
