Bikers will tell you, there’s nothing like a long ride through the middle of nowhere to cast away all worries and clear one’s mind and spirit.
Such a ride for Brandon Turnbow, a biker from Burleson, Texas, a few years ago was jarred from tranquility into a state of shock.
Along a lonely Texas road 10 miles from anywhere, James’ eye caught the glimpse in his rear view mirror of a guy tossing a dog onto the side of the road.
That was too much for Brandon as he turned around to give the guy a piece of his mind.
That decision would change Brandon’s life.
The guy took off, and Brandon found a most friendly and affectionate dog that took one look at Brandon and melted his heart. The dog had little chance of survival, and everything about him begged to be saved from dying alone in the middle of nowhere.
It was a duo meant for the open road.
“And I now have a co-pilot – meet Mr. Davidson,” Brandon wrote in a Facebook post.
He made sure his new pal had all the comforts of home on the road.
“Well, looks like my co-pilot has found peace,” Brandon posted. “His belly is full and he found the pillow.”
It was a worry-free ride for both the rest of the day with Mr. Davidson secure and blissful on the back of Brandon’s Harley.
Finding Mr. Davidson that day inspired Brandon to start a non-profit organization – BAAANG, or Bikers Against Animal Abuse National Global.
His message is for bikers everywhere:
“Let’s all join together to make this happen on an epic scale. I know there are a lot of bikers out there that love animals, so how would you like it if we sent bikers to collect abused animals near you?”
Mr. Davidson inspired Brandon, a singer and songwriter, further as he penned a song about his new best friend.
The duo is an uplifting melody for anyone wanting to hit the road and free their mind and spirit.
