The winter of 2018 came in with an arctic blast. The temperatures can be dangerous. Not only to humans, but also for pets.
Paws can easily become frostbitten, and they can die within hours left outdoors.
This sweetheart of a dog was left outside in the middle of a Midwest blizzard. The reality was that the owners of the animal didn’t want her anymore and left her out there to die.
Thank God an angel of a neighbor noticed her and stepped in. She called Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue and the owner of the rescue knocked on the horrible owner’s door.
The owner said they planned to keep the dog outside forever regardless of weather, so the rescue crew quickly took the dog away.
They carried the pup to their warm truck, and she curled up and fell asleep. She was so happy to be warm and safe.
They headed for the vet to get her checked, and she did have swollen, frostbitten paws. She received treatment, and the vet said she should be okay with some TLC.
The rescuers decided to name her Blizzard. They transported her to a foster family the next day where they had two other foster dogs.
She surprisingly loves the dogs, as well as any human she comes in contact with in spite of what she’s been through.
Thank God that this rescue owner saved this sweet dog’s life. And kudos to the neighbor for making the call. Now Blizzard has a chance to live in a warm, comfortable environment with a forever family.
